Information on location and soil

The soil structure comprises of loess over slate, and lies adjacent to the Steinberg vineyard.

Information on maturation

We begin by carefully selecting only the finest grapes in our vineyards before allowing the wine to develop in French oak barrels so it can subsequently mature with the yeast. It is finally matured in the bottle prior to becoming available for sale.

Smell

The Grüner Veltliner "Black Edition" is a marriage of the warmth and structure of the slate soils, coupled with the depth, spice and complexity of the loess soils.

Taste

The wine displays intense aromas and spiciness, ripe apples and melon over a touch of deep white-pepper and fresh herbs. The palate has a full body and depth of character, extract sweetness and juicy notes over subtle nuances of tobacco and smoked wood.
