Information on location and soil

The 10-25 years old vines in Gamlitz grow in six different warm, amphitheater-shaped vineyards with sandy, gravelly soils. The combination of soil and microclimate fosters a distinctive aromatic spectrum and delivers ripe, complex rather than simply juicy wines.

Information on maturation

The grapes were harvested by hand from 16-30th of September. Spontaneous fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks (75%) and big oak barrels (25%) and the wine was aged for 8 months on the lees before it will be bottled unfined in Mai 2020.

Smell

The combination of soil and microclimate fosters a distinctive aromatic spectrum and delivers ripe, complex rather than simply juicy wines. The nose opens with aromas of ripe yellow fruit, white currant and a delicate spice.

Taste
