From the Bodigraben and Sonnensteig vineyards in Neckenmarkt. Ferreous loam is characteristic for the Bodigraben, whereas in Sonnensteig the mica slate predominates. The vines are between 45 and 60 years old.

Information on maturation

mash fermentation in small wooden fermentation vats, malolactic fermentation in the cask, aged two years in new french Barriques

Smell

fine noble wood, vanilla, dark berries, elegant scent of spices and herbs, tones of nougat

Taste

juicy, complex, present, but well integrated tannins, smooth minerality and long lasting finish

Food recommendation

ideal accompaniment to dishes with venison, red meat and aged cheese
