World premiere in Moscow: Austrian Wine hosted the very first "hybrid" wine tasting. While the trade visitors tasted almost 200 Austrian wines, they were connected live with the winemakers in Austria via an online tool.
Austrian Wine traveled to the Russian capital and invited trade, horeca and press professionals to the first Austrian Flight Tasting in Moscow. In compliance with all safety precautions, 160 trade visitors tasted 195 Austrian wines at the Four Seasons Hotel.
The highlight: During the tasting, participants were able to make live contact in Austria using an online app – via chat or video call – with the thirty-two growers whose wines were featured. Supplementary information and specially produced short videos about each estate and its wines were available online as well.
Each participant sat at their own table and could order flights of wine from the staff to be served in any order they wished, to sample at their own pace. This gave the guests even more time and space to be able to taste the wines in a concentrated and relaxed manner.
Guests could choose between 2 time slots:
- Session 1: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
- Session 2: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Solution Blind-Taste
One flight at the Flight Tasting Moscow was served blind. Guests could guess, which winegrowing regions they are tasting in this flight. The person with the best result received a VIP invitation to VieVinum 2021.
