Although the entry to China was strongly restricted, Austrian Wine was able to show a strong presence during ProWine China 2020.
Austrian Wine was present again this year at the Austrian Pavilion of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. Unfortunately it was not possible for many winegrowers to travel to China themselves, therefore, Austrian wine was presented at a large tasting bar and could be tasted by the guests on site. A total of 74 wines from 21 wineries who are already represented in China were shown and presented by sommeliers with a distinct knowledge of Austrian wine. The guests on site were able to connect with the winegrowers presented via WeChat, the Chinese App, and thereby establish initial contact.
