Three more halls - Austria in Hall 5
ProWein 2022 was in fact extended by three halls. This made it possible to widen the aisles between the individual stands to between four and six meters (previously three meters) and to guarantee the 1.5-metre spacing rule. The exhibition area was not increased. Thus, Austria relocated to Hall 5 and made it the new central meeting point for all those interested in Austrian wines.
As an exciting additional program, Austria once again offered masterclasses in 2022. The Austrian Wine area was found in the midst of the wineries. Austria is a permanent fixture at ProWein. Nowhere else in the world is our presence so extensive and representative.

Excellent, fresh, exciting
Excellent, fresh, exciting
Even though Austria only accounts for 1% of the world's wine production, Austrian wine has clearly positioned itself successfully worldwide through value-added niche marketing.
What makes Austrian wine so special? “The Art of Wine. Down to Earth.” This was the catchphrase of Austria's presentation at ProWein 2022, referring on the one hand to the globally award-winning quality of its top wines, and on the other hand to the welcoming approach with which the winegrowers draw their customers. The small structures in Austria‘s wine country have advantages over the wine industry: the wines are distinguished by quality and authenticity due to careful manual work, and personal customer relationships. Environmentally conscious family businesses distinguish themselves through excellent wines with a fair price-performance ratio, great tradition goes hand in hand with the young and wild spirit.
